Unknown miscreants here Monday night blew up the 132 KV transmission line tower of Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) which disrupted power supply from all the 11 KV feeders to Peshawar industrial area, Peshawar University and 132 Bar Grid Station. The tower, No 30, was receiving power supply from 500 KV Sheikh Mohammadi Grid Station.
The technical staff of the company started repair work on war footing. Due to hectic efforts of Pesco technical staff, power supply to affected Grid Stations was restored from 132 KV Jamrud and 132 KV Peshawar University Grid Stations. Due to scorching heat wave the usage of electricity has increased excessively which has caused additional/extra load on the power distribution system throughout the province, and the company has revised load management schedule.
It has requested the consumers to avoid unnecessary use of electricity, so that excessive or additional load management could be avoided. Pesco has revised load management schedule so that the consumers may not face load management at a specific time continuously. However, the load management schedule already announced will remain unchanged in 4 Divisions of Pesco Peshawar and Khyber. The load management programme consists of 1 to 3 intervals of 1/2 to 1 hour duration in 24 hours.
