KARACHI: Six hundred new buses would soon be deployed on Karachi's roads, said Sindh Minister for Transport and Mass Transit Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Sunday.
He was talking to a delegation which led by Director General of the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), Lt. Gen. Muhammad Afzal, called on him, said a statement issued here.
The minister informed that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has accorded approval to the deployment of 600 new buses in the city.
He said the Chief Minister is well aware of the inconveniences faced by commuters, so he promptly approved this plan.
The minister apprised the delegation of transport sector's various mega projects and short term plans.
He also spoke about Abdul Sattar Edhi Line, Brown Line, Green Line as well as the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) projects.
The FWO Director General said that these projects would help provide a great deal of relief to the people.
The minister also lauded the role being played by the FWO towards the development process in the country.
