The Karachi Port handled 62,820 tonnes cargo including 38,939 tonnes import, 23,881 tonnes export cargo and 2,345 containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 59,845 tonnes dry cargo including 31,500 tonnes general cargo; 6,172 tonnes fertiliser; 8,600 tonnes coal; 4,576 tonnes cement and 2,975 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Two ships namely Oel Trust and Y M Moon sailed out to sea during the report period.
Five vessels viz Iran Hesabi, Hyundai Sprinter, Wilma, Afamia and Lady Jasmine are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Lucky Arrow and Oel Spirit expected to sail on Friday, while another vessel viz Wilma expected to sail on Saturday.
One vessel viz Sinar Agra due to arrive on Friday, while four ships namely Rose, Zhong Hua-7, Corinthiakos and Al-Abdulla are due to arrive on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 38,980 tonnes furnace oil; 14,996 tonnes iron ore; 10,185 tonnes chemicals and 23,834 tonnes containerised cargo. Four container ships namely Pacheco, MSC Lugano, MSC Sariska and Al Matriyah sailed out to sea during last 24 hours.
Two vessels viz MT Sinar Agra, and MT Eastern Tera are expected to sail on Friday. A total of four ships namely CSAV Ningbo, CMA CGM Rose, Al-Maqwa and Frontier Express carrying containers and diesel oil are currently at the outer anchorage.
Eight vessels viz CV Sariska, CV Al-Mariyah, CV Pacheco, CV MSC Lugano, MT Eastern Tera, MT Sinar Agra, MT Grigoroussa-1 and MV Captain George-L are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, chemicals, furnace oil and iron ore respectively during the report period. Two container vessels viz CSAV Ningbo and CMA CGM Rose due to take berths at Container Terminal on Friday.
Two vessels viz CV Sima Pride and MV Asco due to arrive on Friday, while two more ships namely CV MSC Finland and MT Oriental Miho are due to arrive on Saturday.
