'PPP struck deal with President, MQM to get power'

Leader of Mutahidda Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) has said, PPP has struck deal with President Pervez Musharraf and MQM to get power after forthcoming general elections. In a press statement received here from the London on Saturday.
MMA leader Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said PPP escaped the London multi-party conference because, PPP chairperson had already stricken a deal with the military dictator Pervez Musharraf.
He claimed that he had already predicted that PPP would avoid from joining any alliance to restore genuine democracy in the country. This attitude depicts that PPP was more interested in power than the restoration of democracy in the country.
In 1988 PPP also made alliance with the MQM and had done irreparable damage to the interest of the Sindh and now, once again PPP made alliance with the military dictator Pervez Musharraf and MQM to pay further harm the interest of the Sindh Province, he added. He alleged that PPP chairperson diverted from the philosophy of the PPP founder Z A Bhutto and striving only for achieving power.
MMA leader also regretted over the lost of scores of lives in Lal Masjid incident and said due to the negligence of the government, innocent people were killed. "Had the government been able to resolve the issue, he observed.
He also said the government had completely failed to provide any relief to the flood victims of Sindh and Balochistan and the state officials were only busy in visiting the areas on helicopters, instead of rehabilitating the flood affected people.
