Karachi Transport Owners Federation Chairman Malik Ahmed Khan, Raja Mohammad Rafiq, Amir Khan, Taj Khan Afridi, Raja Mohammad Hameed and Raja Mohammad Ajmal have asked the government to reduce diesel and petrol prices with immediate effect, otherwise they would launch a protest drive against it.
In a joint statement issued here on Saturday, they said that the rising prices of petrol and diesel had become intolerable, as a result they were unable to continue their business. The transporters said that they had asked the government to reduce diesel and petrol prices by July 15, 2007 but their request was turned down. They said it had become not possible to continue business at the present level of oil prices.
