Cotton cultivation: 37,000 acres of land to be developed in Balochistan

Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (Minfal) has launched a programme to develop about 37,000 acre sterile land in Mirani command area (Balochistan) for cotton cultivation.
Official sources in the ministry said that cotton is considered as a major profit oriented and exportable crop of the country that consumes less water then other major crops like wheat and sugarcane. He said the government has decided to develop 7,000 acre extra land annually for cotton cultivation in Mirani dam area in Balochistan.
