Modest trading was seen on the grain market on Monday as the rice prices went up and some commodities drifted lower due to smooth supply from upcountry centres, dealers said.
On the cereal side, makai shed Rs 75 to Rs 1175-1200. Moong Sindh was lower by Rs 25 to Rs 3475 and moong from Punjab followed same patter and shed the same amount, they said. Wheat old and new from Bardan shed Rs 5 to Rs 1245-1260, they said.
On the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh gained Rs 25 to Rs 1700-1750, they said. Super Basmati low type was up by Rs 100 to Rs 4200 and good type was higher by Rs 200 to Rs 5200, they said. Sugar inferior type shed Rs 100 to Rs 2700 and better type shed Rs 80 to Rs 2800, dealers said.
