Head of PPPP Punjab, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, in a press conference here on Tuesday said that they would resist if emergency is enforced in the country. Speaking about statement of Ghulam Mustafa Khar, in which Mustafa Khar made certain remarks about PPPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto, Qureshi said that no show-cause notice would be issued in this regard against him.
He said that PPPP had made no deal with the government and is committed to the Charter of Democracy signed in London. On the occasion, Former Federal Minister Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor along with 45 councillors and nazims of various areas of Punjab announced joining of PPPP. In the press conference Mian Umar Khan Tarar from Hafizabad, Dr Abdul Rashid and Sardar Sajad Hussain from Liah also announced their joining of the party.
