Doctor and Patwari held on charges of fraud

Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab, arrested Dr Aftab Iqbal who was posted at Rural Health Center Hujra Shah Muqeem for issuing bogus medico-legal certificate. The ACE also nabbed Irshad Ahmad Patwari Halqa Depalpur for fraud of Rs 0.6 million after getting illegal gratification.
Both the accused persons have been sent to lock-up for further investigation, a spokesman of ACE Punjab, said here on Wednesday. According to details, Azizan Bibi, a local resident lodged a complaint to Director Anti-Corruption Establishment, Brigadier Muhammad Aslam Ghumman (retd) that she purchased one acre piece of land from Abdul Razzaq who produced promissory note worth Rs 0.6 million.
Now, Abdul Razzaq has denied the promissory note saying that he was lying unconscious in Rural Health Center Hujra Shah Muqeem at that time and he managed to get bogus medico-legal certificate.
Director General ACE directed Deputy Director ACE Okara, Arshad Liaqat Chaudhry to probe and sort out the issue. It was disclosed during investigation that Abdul Razzaq got prepared a bogus promissory note from Irshad Ahmad Patwari Halqa Depalpur and paid him Rs 20,000 as illegal gratification. After that, he got a bogus LMC from Dr Aftab Iqbal who also received handsome amount for this purpose.
Circle Officer Okara, Muhammad Azam Manais arrested Dr Aftab Iqbal and Irshad Ahmad Patwari after thorough investigation. ACE has recovered Rs 20,000 from Irshad Ahmad Patwari and sent both accused to lock-up for further investigation.
