A plan has been chalked out to extend the President's Rozgar Scheme to Fata to enable the people of tribal areas to derive benefits of this initiative.
The NWFP Governor Lieutenant General Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai(Retd) Friday was given a presentation on the proposed plan from Muhammad Hanif Khan, Senior Vice President National Bank of Pakistan at Governor's House, which was also attended by Javed Iqbal, Additional Chief Secretary Fata and Azmat Hanif Secretary to Governor.
Highlighting the proposed plan, Hanif Khan said that a suitable lending package for Fata was the establishment of utility stores in different parts of Fata under franchise of Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan.
Similarly under another scheme titled" New Business Finance" the customers could avail the facility for setting up small retail out-let shops. Development of SME business in marble sector also forms part of the plan to provide necessary financing for development of marble sector including purchase of machinery.
The governor while appreciating the proposed plan said that President's Rozgar Schemes was an innovative scheme that would help in eradicating poverty from tribal areas.
This, he added would also be an income generating activity for the common people of the backward areas. He said that by extending the scheme to Fata, its poverty-stricken people would be able to take full benefits of this scheme basically aimed at reducing poverty and generating income activities.
