LHCBA urges Musharraf to quit

Lahore High Court Bar Association President Ehsan Bohan has urged the President and Prime Minister to resign from their offices, saying because they have no right to remain in their offices after the Supreme Court's verdict.
In his speech to the bar members gathered on the Mall, after the court reinstated the country's top judge, he said the ruling raised the confidence and the courts' image in the people's eyes. "This decision will prove a mile stone for a democratic Pakistan and decide once and for all the military's role in the country. It will also reflect a good gesture for administration of justice in the future and encourage the people of Pakistan to fight against injustice."
He also praised the judges who had resigned from their offices, protesting the Chief Justice's suspension. He announced to carry on with the lawyer's struggle till the ouster of the rulers from the power.
Lahore Bar President Muhammad Shah and LHCBA Secretary Sarfraz Cheema also addressed the gathering. On Friday, the lawyers were jubilant after the Supreme Court reinstated Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. The lawyers in the bar rooms shouted against President Musharraf, saying, "Go Musharaf Go". They also congratulated one another.
While dancing and chanting slogans, they came out of the bar rooms. Lahore High Court Bar Association President Ehsan led the lawyers to the Mall. They remained there for a while chanting slogans against General Musharraf and finally returned to the bar peacefully. Bohan also announced a rally on Saturday to express solidarity with the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court for the historic verdict.
