Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Saturday that Pakistan and Bahrain enjoy close brotherly relations based on common faith and shared interest, with a desire to further strengthen bilateral relations. The Prime Minister was talking to Ambassador of Bahrain, Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed Abdul Qadir who arrived here on an official visit.
Prime Minister emphatically mentioned the government's committed to further strengthening of mutually beneficial relations with Bahrain. He also mentioned that Pakistan highly valued its relations with the GCC countries among which Bahrain was an important member.
The Prime Minister said close relations between Pakistan and GCC countries were based on shared political and security interests as well as common desire to promote greater economic and commercial relations.
Pakistan, he added, was committed to promoting greater unity within the Islamic Ummah and would continue to work with all other members of Organisation of Islamic countries (OIC) towards this end.
The Prime Minister also mentioned important contribution being made by thousands of Pakistanis living in Bahrain toward promoting relations between the two countries apart from contributing towards the prosperity of Bahrain.
The Ambassador thanked the Prime Minister and said he was deeply honoured to work in an important country like Pakistan. He conveyed the greetings of the King and the Prime Minister of Bahrain. He said his government was deeply committed to further strengthening the bilateral relations. The Ambassador also appreciated the role being played by Pakistanis living and working in Bahrain towards the growth and prosperity of Bahrain.
