Shaukat talks to Norwegian Prime Minister on phone

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Wednesday spoke on telephone with Prime Minister of Norway Jens Stoltenberg. Both the Prime Ministers, who had been co-chairs of the UN reforms panel, discussed the implementation of UN reforms to improve coherence and effectiveness in the areas of development, environmental protection and humanitarian assistance.
They also discussed implementation of the UN Reforms Panel Report. Prime Minister Aziz conveyed the creation of One-UN Pilot Project in Pakistan as part of the implementation of UN report.
The two leaders also discussed the proposals of Norwegian Prime Minister for setting up of a network of global leaders including Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz for implementation of UN Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5 relating to Mother and Child Healthcare which is to be formally launched during the forthcoming UN General Assembly session in September. Both the leaders reviewed bilateral relations between Pakistan and Norway.
