Wapda clarification

Wapda has termed as "baseless and incorrect" a news item captioned "Cheap material being used in Kachhi canal construction", published in Business Recorder on July 23 A clarification faxed by Wapda said that "the construction material being used at the project is of standard quality."
Wapda spokesman made it clear that the question of using cheap or substandard material does not arise at all as all the construction material is used after necessary tests from civil engineering laboratories namely CMTL Wapda, University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, and PCSIR, Lahore, strictly in accordance with the contract specifications, drawing and design.
The results of tests on construction material are properly maintained and are available in record. These tests' results are checked and verified frequently by various agencies monitoring the progress and quality of work.-PR
