HEC equipping university teachers with modern technique

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) is equipping the university teachers with modern teaching techniques. Now, it is up to the teachers to share their expertise with students and collogues and disseminate their learning in their own institutions.
HEC Member Professor Dr Mukhtar Ahmed stateds this while addressing the concluding ceremony of eighth Faculty Professional Development Program held here on Wednesday.
He said the future of the teaching profession in Pakistan is very bright and the time has come that the talented youth has to opt for teaching in the universities. The HEC has taken tremendous steps to bring improvement and innovation in education through equipping teachers of higher educational institutions with modern techniques of teaching learning process, he said.
"The HEC is striving hard to bring development in higher education through improving the skills of teachers who actually spearhead transformation in any country", he emphasised. HEC Learning Innovation Division Director-General Noor Amna Malik said the major objective of Learning Innovation Division is to focus on the professional development of teachers by conducting professional development training courses at the doorsteps of the universities.
The HEC National Academy of Higher Education has imparted training to over 3,500 teachers uptil now through 39 established human recourse development centers in the public sector universities.
