Sindh Culture, Tourism and Social Welfare ministry has planned to launch a book on its nine-month performance since this portfolio has been given to Sindh Minister Rauf Siddiqui in November 2006. The ministry officials told Business Recorder on Thursday that the ministry had decided to apprise people about the performance of the department.
They said that this book, being launched next month, would carry all information about the accomplished tasks, besides details of ongoing plans and future projects of the ministry.
The book will highlight all the promotional activities, which were organised during the tenure of Rauf Siddiqui, they said. The major events, arranged by the ministry, include Urdu-Sindhi Mushairas held in Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Nawabshah, Larkana, Sukkur and Umerkot.
A large number of local and international poets had participated in these Mushairas, they added. They said the ministry had planned to organise an international safari at Shah Belo, Sukkur.
They said that diplomats from the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, besides some local industrialist had visited Shah Belo and agreed to facilitate the ministry for making the international safari a success. They further said that the ministry had also chalked out a plan to develop Gorakh Hills as a beautiful hill station.
