Rain forecast for lower catchments of all major rivers

River Chitral is in vary high flood at Chitral while all the major rivers of the country are flowing below low flood level. According to meteorological features a weak wasterly wave is affecting Malakand division while a monsoon current from the Arabian Sea is reaching Punjab up to 7000 feet.
The Flood Forecasting division has informed that isolated thunderstorm/rain is expected in the lower catchment areas of rivers Indus and Jhelum in Rawalpindi and Sargodha divisions respectively, during the next 24 hours. Isolated showers have also been forecast for the lower catchments of rivers Chenab and Ravi in Gujranwala and Lahore divisions respectively.
Some thunderstorm rain has also been forecast for upper catchment areas of rivers Jhelum, Chenab and Ravi, while mainly dry weather has been predicted for upper catchments of river Indus for the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, reports of rainfall have been received from different cities including Parachinar 16 mm, Garhi Dopatta 14 mm, Rawalakot 8 mm, Kohat 2 mm and Kakul 1 mm.
