Governor Punjab Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd) has appreciated the role of Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) in controlling spread of menace of narcotics in Pakistan effectively through its endeavours. He was speaking on the occasion of 1st ANF cadets passing out parade here on Saturday.
A total of 142 cadets (17 sub-inspectors, 9 ASI's and 116 constables) participated in passing out ceremony of the force. Originally 234 vacancies of ANF was publicised for which 50,000 applications were received.
Maqbool further eulogising efforts of ANF said that there were estimated four to five million users of narcotics in Pakistan and the force through its hard efforts had not made this figure shot up. Punjab governor averred that due to steadiness of Pakistan government, narcotics production in the country had come to halt.
