Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday said all decisions by the present government are being taken in national interest and added that PML along with its allied parties will contest and win the next general elections on the basis of its performance.
He was addressing a special ceremony held here to start work for supply of sui gas to Barakoh area near the federal capital which was attended by President PML Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, President PML Federal Capital Dr Amjad and a large number of people from the rural areas.
The Prime Minister said despite challenges and problems, the government has been taking measures for the welfare of people and providing them all basic necessities of life at their door steps. He said Pakistan is a peace loving country and would continue to march on the road towards progress and prosperity, as the present leadership is dedicated to improve the living standard of the people.
"All decisions by the present leadership are being taken in national interests and for the welfare, progress and prosperity of the people," he added. The Prime Minister said Pakistan is a fort of Islam, which was achieved by the Muslims of the area after a long struggle under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Referring to various challenges being faced by the country including extremism and terrorism, the PM urged the people to inculcate unity in their ranks to face these challenges with courage and determination.
He asked the people to be careful of anti-Islam and anti-Pakistan forces and should not play in their hands who want to damage the country and are against the process of development.
