Federal Minister for Political Affairs, Engr Amir Muqam said on Sunday that there is no harm in political contacts for promotion of healthy politicking and continuity of democracy in the country.
It is good omen for democratic process if a mainstream political party accepts President Pervez Musharraf for next election, he said while talking to PML office bearers here at his residence.
Amir Muqam who is also holding office of PML NWFP president said that Pakistan Muslim League's leadership believes in practical measures for country uniformed development and considers services of masses as worship. The PML government has launched record numbers of development projects and scores mega schemes were completed aimed to bring improvement in the lives of poor strata, he added.
The Federal Minister for Political Affairs Amir Muqam said that PML and PPP will contest the upcoming general elections from their own platforms, adding that country's founding party will get thumping victory in the upcoming general elections on the basis of its performance in office.
He urged the party workers to start preparation for the upcoming general elections and spread the party message to every corner of the province. The minister assured that general elections will be held on time. Pakistan is fighting the war against terrorism for its own national interests, adding that no compromise will made with anyone on the country's security, sovereignty and national interests.
