Criminals' gang busted

Islamabad police (Saddar Circle) have busted a gang of thieves and recovered valuables worth millions of rupees from their possession. Addressing a press conference, ASP Saddar Circle, Farhan Zahid said that raid was conducted on the directives issued by Senior Superintendent of Police Captain Zafar Iqbal (Retd) to accelerate efforts against the anti-social elements and check the theft incidents in the area.
A special team, comprising Sub-Inspectors Muhammad Tahseen, Nusrat Ali, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Liaqat Ali, Mansoor Ahmed, Nasir Manzoor and other officials was constituted which traced a gang involved in theft incidents.
The ringleader of the gang Ghulam Muhammad alias Basa was arrested along with his accomplice Wajid Mehmood. Police succeeded to recover five colour TVs, pedestal fans and several mobile phones from their possession.
The ASP Saddar said that the police also arrested five other persons identified as Azam, Saroor, Khalid Mehmood, Ghulam Muhammad and Imran Abbas and recovered fire arms, stolen motorcycles and other valuables from their possession.
