The rupee did not show any change against dollar in the interbank market on Thursday for buying at Rs 60.38 and selling at Rs 60.39, dealers said. The rupee maintained its overnight level against dollar despite higher demand by the importers, they said.
In the world markets, yen held off three-month highs in respect of dollar and euro on Thursday, a day after the Japanese currency's gains were wiped out as US stocks and credit markets settled from a big shake-out this week.
The sell-off in equities and corporate bonds has spurred a rush among market players to reverse risky carry trades -- selling the low-yielding yen to fund purchases of higher-yielding currencies like the Australian and New Zealand dollars.
