Anti-Violent Crime Unit (AVCU) recovered a boy abducted two days back and arrested four culprits after a brief police encounter, said Manzoor Mughal, DIG Investigation. He said this while addressing a press conference on Thursday in head office of ACVU.
He said Ameer Abdaal, 14, resident of Garden East, was on the way of his school on July 30 when unknown culprits kidnapped him. The kidnappers demanded of Rs 15 million from the family of Ameer by making a call to them. After this, the parent of boy contacted the police and got lodged a FIR.
A policeman in plain dress took the demanded amount after the family settled the amount at Rs 5 million with kidnappers on a specified point. From the point special police team, constituted by Manzoor Moghal, arrested a culprit, Aurangzeb, with a Suzuki Mehran of registration No AHG-087.
After the initial interrogation on him, police team raided on a house situated near Al-Falah Mosque, Machhar Colony near Gulbai and arrested accomplices of the culprit, Babu, Yasin and Arshad following a brief police encounter. The police recovered the abducted boy safely besides two TT pistols with dozens of rounds.
