Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (Erra) has released second instalment of Rs 8.95 million to 101 earthquake victim families for the construction of houses in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
"The financial aid has been submitted in bank accounts of the affected families and those having no bank accounts have been entertained through post offices," an Erra spokesperson told here on Thursday. "Thus, distribution of total Rs 32.8 billion as second instalment in 0.4549 million affected people has been accomplished to help them complete the construction of house upto roof," he added.
The spokesperson said that some cases of the aid delivery for house construction were in pending due to non-availability of proper information about the victim families, however the authority is persuading to process these cases as soon as possible, he added.
In addition, Erra has also provided Rs 102.175 million to PERA and Rs 608.575 million to SERA for distribution in the earthquake-affected families. "A total 6,830 families in AJK and NWFP have already completed the construction of bases of their houses with financial assistance by Erra," the spokesperson said.
