Richard briefed about law and order situation in Fata

The Chief of Staff of British Army, General Richard Dannatt and NWFP Governor, Lieutenant General, Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai (Retd) on Thursday overviewed the law and order situation prevalent in the region.
The visiting military official, in a meeting held at the Governor's House with the Governor NWFP, recorded mutual observations on the measures undertaken so far by Pakistan to control militancy and terrorism. Governor said while speaking on the occasion, that crackdown in FATA areas is a part of the overall strategy to combat terrorism.
However, "we are focusing on developing social sectors in order to create economic opportunities", he added. Aurakzai also announced a comprehensive nine year-plan of $2 billion that will secure the future of young generation so as to refrain them from being indulged with fanatic militants.
Replying to a query, the governor informed the press that the government of Pakistan was able to check terrorism better than any other country. Dannatt appreciated the Pakistan's efforts to fight terrorism and assured his government's continued support to Pakistan.
