CDGR to fill 2,500 teachers vacant posts: City Nazim

The City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) has decided to fill 2,500 vacant posts in its schools besides providing all other facilities.
"Provincial government has allocated Rs 350 million for repairing educational institutions in earthquake-hit areas of Murree, Kahuta and Kotli Sattian", said Raja Javed Ikhlas, City District Nazim while addressing the award distribution ceremony of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi (BISER) the other day.
He said that the education and health sector reforms introduced by government during last three years have improved these two neglected sectors. In health sector reforms, vacant posts in hospitals will be filled while targets set under education sector reforms would be attained by the end of this year.
Besides filling the vacant posts of teachers, government would make sure provision of missing facilities, he said adding that Rs 20,000 have been given to primary schools and Rs 30,000 to elementary schools for renovation of the buildings. He said that toilet blocks and boundary walls would be constructed in all girls' schools in the district.
Ikhlas stressed the need for immediate construction of board building saying that without having a proper set up, secrecy of examinations would not be maintained besides students and their parents would not be facilitated properly. He assured full support of CDGR in construction of the building and asked the board officials to brief him about the matters related to construction.
Ikhlas praised the efforts of BISER officials for maintaining the secrecy and credibility among people. He congratulated successful candidates of the SSC examination 2007 in general and positions holder in particular saying that these brilliant students were assets of the nation. City District Nazim distributed medals and awards among positions holder. Bank Alfalah provided two computers for the students who attained first position jointly. Cash prizes of Rs 20,000 for first position holders, Rs 15,000 for second position holders and Rs 10,000 for third position holders along with 15 medals were distributed.
