Construction of Faiz auditorium approved

The federal government has formally approved the construction of Faiz Ahmed Faiz Auditorium at Islamabad. Iftikhar Arif, Chairman Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) revealed in a briefing that the auditorium to be set up at the premises of PAL Islamabad would greatly help in promoting literary activities in the country.
It will be equipped with all latest facilities. The 2-storey auditorium complex will cover 13,234 sq ft area. It will have seating capacity of 400 persons whereas committee room, arts gallery and literature museum have also been proposed there.
The project will be completed in two years. The auditorium will have all facilities of audio and video recording of the literary functions and it would then contribute in fulfilling the long-standing desire of littérateurs of a suitable place for literary activities at the federal capital. He said that design of the complex was being prepared and soon its foundation stone would also be laid.-PR
