Rs 568 million earmarked for population welfare projects

The Federal Government has earmarked Rs 568 million in PSDP 2007-08 for various on-going and new projects of Population Welfare in NWFP. According to PSDP documents.
Under the Social Welfare Development Programme, the Federal Government has allocated Rs 407 million in the current PSDP for Population Welfare Programme 2003-08 whereas the total estimated cost of the project is Rs 2.2233 billion. Total Rs 45 million would be spent during the current fiscal year on the Population Welfare Programme (PWP) 2003-08 in FATA and the estimated cost of the project stands at Rs 250 million.
Similarly, Rs 58 million has been allocated in the PSDP 2007-08 for the Population Welfare Programme in the Northern Areas whereas the estimated cost of the project is Rs 161.359 million. Moreover, Rs 36 million has been earmarked for Rural Health Project (RHP) in NWFP in collaboration with Asian Development Bank.
Total cost of the project has been estimated at Rs 192.2 million. Likewise, in order to set up additional Rural Health Service Centres in NWFP Rs 22 million has been earmarked in the current fiscal year whereas total estimated cost of the project is Rs 88.190 million and Rs 39.633 million has been spent on it till June 2007.
