Sindh University vice chancellor for effective use of online digital library

The vice-chancellor University of Sindh Mazharul Haq Siddiqui has urged upon research scholars and teachers to make effective use of online digital library which access to a huge amount of books and journals.
He expressed these views in the opening session of the demonstration to teachers and scholars on the use of e-books in Digital Library on Friday arranged by Allama I.I.Kazi Library for effective usage of the Digital Library launched by Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The occasion was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, directors, chairpersons of various institutes and departments respectively, senior faculty members, a large number of students including MPhil, PhD scholars from all departments of the University.
The vice chancellor advised all faculty members to use digital library and benefit from accessibility of 40,000 books and 23,000 journals with variety of subjects and disciplines for research generation of new knowledge. The vice chancellor said that in the modern age digital library is an essential requirement available to scholars and announced that University would made available more computers required for scholars, teachers and students in the library. He said that the University would fulfil promise to extend Internet access to students in their rooms at boys and girls hostels.
He said that gradually Internet facility would also be extended at Sindh University residents' colony to provide facility to faculty members and employees. He expresses hope that students, teachers and scholars would get benefit from available access of online digital library for education and research purpose.
The Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh proposed the library management to prepare schedule and invite one by one every institute and department along with their teachers and students to benefit from access of the digital library.
