The lineup of vessels waiting to load sugar in Brazilian ports fell to 39 ships, from 46 last week, shipping agent Williams said on Thursday. In a weekly report, Williams said 32 vessels were lined up in the southern port of Santos, compared with 38 last week. There were 5 vessels at Paranagua, down from 6 a week ago.
The center-south, which accounts for 85 percent of national sugar cane output, is harvesting a record crop. Santos port accounted for nearly 89 percent of the sugar tonnage being loaded in Brazilian ports.
