IGP Sindh issues special directives for effective security

Inspector General Police Sindh Zia-ul-Hasan Khan while addressing a high level meeting of senior police officers here on Sunday, issued directives for special security measures.
He said respective police officers should take such measures in their areas under their own supervision and maintain close liaison with their sub-ordinate staff in this regard.
He directed that mobiles of all police stations should carry necessary staff, bullet proof jackets and appropriate weapons. He called for effective motorcycle patrolling, snap checking with proper coordination with police check posts.
The IG directed that all SPs should ensure organised intelligence network for elimination of crimes. He stressed on short training courses for police officers, particularly for investigation officers to enhance their professional capabilities. He specially directed SP Investigation to ensure that court matters are finalised under their supervision.
For elimination of organised crimes, he directed the police officers to adopt co-ordinated strategy and said that officers should work hard to arrest gangs involved in house dacoities and robberies.
He referred to Lyari gang war and said the strategy to end it should be made more effective. He pointed out that necessary resources and manpower have been provided.
The IGP asked the operational police officers to ensure better record maintenance at police stations and hold computer training for the educated staff under e-policing project.
He said Town SPs should remain, all the time in touch with their officials and staff on security duties so that their morale is kept high and they could work still hard to control crimes.
The IGP directed the officials to provide best possible services to citizens visiting police stations while their complaints should be listened at clean and tidy reporting centers by educated staff and effective efforts made for their solution. He stressed that citizens should be kept informed about the efforts being made. He directed that a complete record of police Shuhada and report of action taken for the welfare of their heirs be maintained at respective police stations. Zia-ul-Hasan asked the traffic police to perform their responsibilities effectively to control traffic. He directed that during construction of roads, the people should be kept effectively informed about diversions through media. He said the traffic officers and staff should remain visible at their points of duty.
