Suicidal attacks shameful and naked aggression: National Assembly Speaker

The Speaker National Assembly Choudary Amir Hussain on Sunday strongly condemned the suicidal attacks in Parachinar and Waziristan and termed it a shameful and naked aggression against mankind.
Talking to media persons at a rest house on Sunday morning here he underscored the need of forging complete unity among the ranks to cope with the threats of militancy and extremism in the country.
Such elements were trying to create chaos and unrest through their evil designs just for their personal gains as well as to hinder the process of economic development of the country, he added. Choudary Amir Hussain said that Islam is a religion of brotherhood, peace and tolerance and it had strongly condemned the killing of innocent people.
Choudary Amir Hussain said such activities were earning the bad name for Islam and Pakistan besides creating misconceptions about Islam in foreign countries. He urged upon the Ulema and religious scholars as well as print and electronic media that they should come forward and play their instrumental role in highlighting the spirit and golden teaching of Islam and help vanishing the misconceptions about Islam.
He also urged upon the media to use its energies and pen for highlighting the golden teaching of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) the greatest educator of mankind for fading the misconceptions about Islam.
The Speaker National Assembly called upon the people that they should keep a vigilant eye on suspected persons in their respective areas and demonstrate complete unity in the ranks for weeding out the extremism and terrorism from the society.
Earlier, addressing a public meeting in adjoining village Noul after Sui gas pipeline laying ceremony costing Rs 4.6 million he said that government was utilising huge funds on the provision of basic facilities like Sui gas, telecommunication, electricity, means of communication, education and health in ignored and far-off areas of the country.
The PML-Q government was committed to banish backwardness from the neglected regions aimed at bringing these areas at par with the developed areas of the country he said. He further stated that it was PML-Q government, which had ensured the basic facilities in backward areas and had managed to remove disparities between rural and urban areas of the country for the larger interest of the masses.
The government had also taken numerous steps for the installation of water filtration plants at union council level for providing the facility of hygienic drinking water to the people in their respective areas, he said. The National Assembly Speaker said that parliament is going to complete its constitutional tenure for first time in the history of country and the credit goes to President General Pervez Musharraf.
