The Federal Ministry of Tourism has worked out to organise Freedom Jeep Rally from Ormara to Gwadar from August 12 to 14 to mark the 60th Independence Day under "Visit Pakistan Years-2007" aimed at promoting tourism sector in the province, official sources told APP here on Sunday.
The Tourism Ministry will also organise Jashn-i-Sahil Gwadar from October 15 to 20 in order to portray rich culture of Balochistan, the sources said. Adding that the Ministry is also planning to organise a jeep rally in Ziarat district and reviving Quetta Festival, which has not been organised for the last five years. The objectives behind organising and sponsoring these programmes are to fascinating tourists nationally and internationally.
"Tourism sector was neglected in the past, but the present government is making all-out efforts to promote the sector country wide. In this regard it has devised a comprehensive planning and marketing strategy for promotion of tourism," they maintained. The sector will be promoted at tehsil level in the country. In this connection the Ministry will establish inter-districts and inter-provincials coordination.
The government has identified eight countries to co-ordinate with them in promotion of tourism in the country. In this connection a package has also been prepared to create awareness among children of overseas Pakistanis in America about culture of their ancestors.
