'CAA puts record straight'

08 Aug, 2007

The Civil Aviation Authority has issued the following clarification: Statements as reported in the media quoting Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Tanvir Hussain, making certain accusations against CAA, are not factual and are based on promoting certain vested interests.
CAA is one of the premium institutions of the country and any attempt to damage such irresponsible statements reflects very poorly on the individual making such wild allegations.
Furthermore, CAA has an Executive Committee and its affairs are approved and run as per the direction of Board of Directors which constitute eminent people from private sector and representative of Government of Pakistan. Its Chairman is Secretary, Defence. Every important deal, transaction, investment proposition, appointment of Consultants, award of contracts above Rs 20 million are approved by CAA Board after due deliberation.
CAA Pakistan enjoys 100 percent support of Secretary, Defence, and Ministry of Defence on all important issues and will not get influenced by people who promote certain elements and have vested interests.
CAA wishes to reiterate that it will not succumb to any pressures from the vested interests for achieving the objectives set forth for it by its Board and Government of Pakistan.-PR
