Punjab Minister for Communication and Works Chaudhry Zaheer-ud-Din Khan has said that the government is providing modern and quality means of communications to urban and rural areas. He made his comment when he chaired a department meeting to review the pace of work on current developmental projects here on Wednesday.
He said the 13.95 kilometre long road from Jalu More to Ravi Siphon along the Western Bank of BRB Canal would be completed at a cost of Rs 157.75 million for which Rs 110 million being earmarked in the new fiscal year.
The minister ordered the chief of highway engineers to accelerate the pace of work and added that his department had released funds for all schemes. Department Secretary Muhammad Ahsan, Technical Additional Secretary Javed Akhtar Lodhi, the north highway chief and superintending engineers also attended the meeting.
