Jamaat-e-Islami starts mobilising workers

The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan has asked party office-bearers to mobilise their workers for the forthcoming general elections. Party sources told Business Recorder here on Wednesday that the party leadership had asked the central, provincial and district representatives to hold conventions at their respective levels and mobilise the workers and its legislators to attend them.
In Lahore, the party has started holding the conventions on Wednesday.
The first convention surfaced in the Ravi Town where local party leaders discussed various issues and evolved a strategy for the upcoming polls. Similar conventions will be held in Shalimar, Aziz Bhatti, Allama Iqbal, Wagah and Nishter, Gulberg, Data Gunj Buksh and Samanabad Towns on August 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16 and 17, respectively. When contacted, a local leader said the party would also hold exclusive meetings with its workers.
