Finance Ministry's offices to be relocated: Omar

11 Aug, 2007

Minister of State for Finance Omar Ayub on Friday informed the National Assembly that the offices of the Finance Ministry are being relocated to streamline its working. Speaking on a Calling Attention Notice, he said at present the ministry is located in Q block at Pak Secretariat with offices at various rented places.
"We are in the process of locating our various offices by function at one place," he added. The notice drew the minister's attention towards the non-working of Federal Treasury Office in Islamabad due to non-availability of accommodation.
"We know people are facing problems but once, in a few weeks time, when we are relocated then things will start working smoothly," he added. The notice was moved by treasury members Sardar Bahadur Ahmed Khan Sihar and Riaz Fatyana.
