PCB umpires' package hailed

Former Test and veteran domestic umpire Saleem Badar Sunday hailed the steps taken by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the welfare of umpires. "These revolutionary steps announced by PCB will not only improve the financial position and respect of the umpires but will also help in overall lifting the standard of umpiring in the country," he said in a statement.
"Through new package PCB not only provided benefits to the current panel of umpires but also have not forgotten retired and late umpires," Salem who stood in seven Test and 37 ODIs said.
"This for the first time solid steps has been taken in professional manner for umpires," he said. He complimented and congratulated PCB Chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf and General Manager Umpires and former Test umpires Khizer Hayat and other officials for enhancements of benefits of umpires.
