Assistant Sub Inspector Amir Hamza and two cops Dost Muhammad and Zia-ur-Rehman were killed in an encounter while an accomplice of proclaimed offender identified as Khurmani was killed when police retaliated.
However, proclaimed offenders managed to runaway. SSP (Operation) Multan Muhammad Nawaz Waraich said," ASI and a cop died on the spot and a constable died in Nishtar Hospital Multan on Sunday morning in an encounter near Gambanwala (Duniyapur)," we have sent a Police party to arrest the proclaimed offenders who were involved in a motor cycle dacoity.
According to details, a police party raided a home to arrest two proclaimed offenders Muhammad Shafi and Abdul Shakoor Oudd in Gambanwala (Noor Garh) in Lodhran district early in the morning on Sunday. As they knocked the door, proclaimed offenders opened fires resultantly ASI Amir Hamza and a cop Dost Muhammad died on the spot and another cop Zia-ullah succumbed to wounds in Nishtar Hospital, Multan. When Police retaliated one of the accomplice of proclaimed offender died. Operation is still continued.
