APDM rally slams government's policies

The All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) has vowed to stop Pakistan Army from interference in political affairs, restore Constitution as it was on October 12, 1999, restore democracy and supremacy of democratic institutions.
Free and transparent elections under impartial and powerful election commission, rights of provinces under Constitution, return of exiled leadership and a consensus national government to hold elections. This resolve was made in a joint declaration adopted by Liaqat Bagh Public rally of APDM held on Tuesday.
The rally was presided over by veteran politician and PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq and attended by APDM leaders, including Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Imran Khan, Chaudhry Nisar Ali, Asfandyar Wali Khan, Moulana Fazlur Rehman, Rasul Bakhsh Palejo, Dr Qadir Magsi, Hasil Khan Bazinjo, Hameed-ud-Din Mashriqi, Liaqat Baloch, Professor Sajid Mir, Moulana Ghafoor Haidry, Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa, Muhammad Haneef Abbasi, Mian Muhammad Aslam, Chaudhry Tanveer, Sardar Naseem, and Syed Manzoor Gilani.
The APDM rally, in its joint declaration, expressed its resolve to continue struggle till President Musharraf leaves the power that he has captured illegally by using military might. The people would resist re-election of Musharraf in uniform and a countrywide protest would be launched to force Musharraf to leave, it reads.
The declaration stated the present regime has miserably failed on foreign, internal, social and economic fronts and it has thrown country into a terrible economic disorder.
The APDM has rejected the economic policies of the present regime, saying that the policies have resulted in rise in unemployment, poverty; illiteracy besides, it has created various socio-economic problems for the country, it reads.
During eight-year of dictatorship, the country has witnessed bloodshed in Waziristan, Balochistan, parts of NWFP and Islamabad and Pakistan Army in spite of defending frontiers let loose reign of terror in its own people, the declaration reads. The people would take revenge of every drop of blood of innocent Pakistanis. The dictatorship has weakened the federation during its eight-year rule and provinces are controlled by Corps Commanders, it reads, saying that if Musharraf was re-elected the country would face disintegration.
The people were left at the mercy of terrorists and extremists while the secret agencies of the country have indulged in the politics, APDM declaration stated, adding that the role of law-enforcement agencies should be fixed as per Constitutional parameters.
The APDM rally stated that the rulers have given country in the slavery of America and all the decisions are being made in US. The Presidential candidates have openly threatened to attack holy places of Muslim Ummah and Pakistan, which is ample proof of failure of government on foreign front.
The alliance has reaffirmed its pledge to continue its struggle till complete restoration of democracy and democratic institutions and rule of law, constitution of a powerful election commission, complete freedom of judiciary and return of exiled leadership. They assured the masses that they would not leave any stone unturned to force the present regime to resign for the sake of country's solidarity and integrity.
