The State Bank of Pakistan would continue to play a leading role to enhance the prestige of the country and its officers and staff would keep performing their duties with sincerity, dedication and honesty.
This was stated by SBP Governor, Dr Shamshad Akhtar on the occasion of the flag hoisting ceremony held at the State Bank Building, Karachi on August 14 to mark the 60th Independence Day.
She reaffirmed that the State Bank serves the nation without any regional, ethnic, political and religious prejudices and we are proud to be the custodian of the country's internal strength and external image. She further said that the Independence Day provides the nation with an opportunity to reiterate our commitment with our homeland.
The State Bank is a unique organisation of the country that, since its inception, has been making relentless efforts with sincerity and honesty towards its commitments for the development of the country's economy, she said, adding that the economy is regarded as backbone of every country of the world.
Extending congratulations to the nation on the Independence Day, Dr Akhtar said that this day reminds us our elders, who under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, scarified their lives and as a result of their unparalleled efforts, Pakistan was created.
She paid glowing tributes to the national heroes and tens of thousands of unsung martyrs, who played a key role in the independence of our country. The ceremony was attended, among others, by Mansur-ur-Rehman Khan and Yaseen Anwar, Deputy Governors, Executive Directors, Directors, officers and staff of the Bank besides families of the Bank employees.-PR
