Wheat futures on the Chicago Board of Trade turned lower early on Wednesday after a choppy open, retreating on profit-taking after the spot contract hit an 11-year high overnight above $7 per bushel, traders said.
As of 9:55 am CDT (1455 GMT), CBOT September wheat was down 4 cents at $6.88-1/2 per bushel. Kansas City Board of Trade September hard red winter wheat was down 7-3/4 cents at $6.64-1/2, and Minneapolis Grain Exchange September spring wheat was down 5-1/4 at $6.69.
