The Judge Accountability Court No 4 Khaild Mehmood has accepted National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) application regarding reopening of three references of corruption against Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and seven other family members here on Friday.
The application regarding reopening of three cases was filed by NAB Deputy Prosecutor General Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhutta, which was accepted by the court and fixed August 25 for trial.
Accepting application, the Accountability Court observed that permission for reopening cases regarding Hudabia papermills, Ittefaq Foundry and Raiwind land against Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Mian Sharif, Abbas Sharif and others is granted.
Regular hearing of the cases by Special Court No 4 will start from August 25. The NAB Deputy Prosecutor took the stance in his application that NAB itself had got proceedings stopped against the accused for indefinite period as they were in exile and now NAB desires to reopen the cases pleading the court to grant permission in this regard.
The court accepting the application directed Deputy Prosecutor General to furnish whereabouts of the accused before the court. The court also directed that in case any of the accused has expired, the evidence in this regard should also be submitted before the court.
