PPP and MMA turning Musharraf's defeat into success: LPP

Labour Party Pakistan's (LPP) Secretary General, Farooq Tariq has said that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) were joining hands with military dictator to turn his defeat into a success at the cost of future of the people and Benazir Bhutto and Maulana Fazlur Rehman wanted to give a "safe-way" to Pervez Musharraf.
Delivering his speech at a convention of office bearers and workers of 13 districts of southern Punjab on Friday, he said that masses would reject the politics of opportunists because military dictatorship, extremism, capitalism were foes of the masses.
He said the Independence Day is an opportunity to look back for noting mistakes so everyone may correct himself. He said Pakistan came into existence due to democratic struggle. It was liberated not by generals, judges and intellectuals but through the vote of common people and only common people could be the guardian of the country.
He said a wave of awareness in the people of Pakistan was a great hope and the large ratio of youth in Pakistan enhanced the hopes for a prosperous and stable Pakistan. Despite a number of crucial constitutional, social, economic and security issues, Pakistan enjoyed independence and moving towards its destination that was a combination of democracy and Islam, he added. "Ask Palestinians, Kashmiris and Chechans the value of independence if you are disappointed with the state of affairs in Pakistan," he said.
He said creating of Pakistan was a divine project and that would certainly be completed. He said the aim of the divine scheme was to show evidence of a society based on the teachings of Islam and democracy. He added that Pakistan had a bright future.
Labour Party leader said "One of the most crucial questions we must think about is that why Pakistan left behind when other countries of the world made remarkable progress". He added that nations achieved their goals through knowledge but Pakistanis entertained themselves with mere slogans and slogans didn't make any difference in such serious affairs.
The convention was also addressed by Chaudhry Imtiaz Ahmed, Chairman(Punjab) Suhail Javed (Vice Chairman) Members of Punjab Council Amer Hussain, Tariq Mehmood, Joseph Riaz (Multan), Malik Ghulam Nabi Awan (Khanewal), Maryam Ashraf (Vehari) Rao Rafiq Ahmed (Lodhran) Qamar Shirazi (Layyah), Ilyas Khokhar (Muzaffargarh), Mohsin Ali(Rahimyar Khan),Hameed Murad Adil (Bahawalpur) Hanif Dreshak (Rajanpur), Tariq Mehmood (Toba Tek Singh), and Mehmood Shaikh (Dera Ghazi Khan).
