NRL profit rises to Rs 4.2 billion

After tax profit of National Refinery Limited (NRL) has increased to Rs 4.202 billion, translating an earning per share of Rs 63.07 in the financial year, ending June 30, as compared to PAT of Rs 3.409 billion and EPS of Rs 51.17 earned in the corresponding period last year.
The board of directors of the refinery, in its meeting held on Friday, recommended a final cash dividend for the year at Rs 20 per share, ie 200 percent. The board also recommended issuance of bonus shares in the proportion of one share for every five shares held, ie 20 percent.
Informing the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the NRL stated that the net sales of the refinery increased to Rs 91.326 billion in the period under review against Rs 80.894 billion in the same period last year. The refinery's profit before tax surged to Rs 6,094.700 million in this period against Rs 5,262.093 million previously.
