A senior official of Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) on Sunday died of heart attack while taking part in rescue operation in the wake of an inferno which left seven floors of the 15-storey building gutted.
Vijay Kumar Khatri, manager administration complained of pain in his chest at around 3pm while fire-fighting teams were trying hard to extinguish the fire, sources in PNSC told Business Recorder.
Sources said the manager who was in his 50s could not survive the heart attack and took his last breath on the way to the hospital. Vijay, hailing interior Sindh, was the resident of Cantt Station and left behind wife and three children to mourn his death. His funeral ceremony would be held on Monday (today), sources said.
