Former Prime Minister and PML-N Leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has denied signing any kind of agreement with General Pervez Musharraf. Talking to a private television, he admitted that an understanding had been made with a friendly country but denied commenting on it.
"If there is any deal, there would be no need of distribution of photo copies and government is blackmailing me and the entire nation", he said. He said that he had been saying for the last eight years that he did not sign any agreement with Musharraf or any institution and official of the government and he never thought to sign any agreement or deal with any body.
Nawaz Sharif said the original documents should be with the person to whom the agreement was made. He said government seeks time again and again by the Court which is tantamount to its authenticity.
He said he was at the airport for leaving London and he did not know what was shown on television and where it came from.
Nawaz Sharif said that it was a fraud and a drama. He said when I disclosed coming to Pakistan and filed petition, Musharraf regime spread rumours that emergency would be enforced on 160 million people. All this is being done to terrorise us and stop us to return to the country, he added.
Nawaz Sharif said President Rafiq Tarar's response was positive and he knew every thing. He said he had not signed agreement for clemency. The letter written to President Tarar did not contain any agreement it was a public document which published in the newspapers, he added.
He said they made an understanding with the Saudi Government, which was never disclosed, and I think that its unnecessary publication should not be made, as it was a matter of high sensitivity. Our friendly country is abiding the understanding and we should also abide it, he added.
