UHS gives affiliation to new medical college

The University of Health Sciences, (UHS) Lahore has granted affiliation to the newly notified under-graduate medical college at the Lahore General Hospital (LGH). UHS Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Malik Hussain Mubashhar, announced to grant affiliation to the medial college during a meeting with the faculty members of the hospital here on Wednesday.
Professor Mubashhar opined that establishment of a new undergraduate medical college would offer more opportunities of medical education and accommodate more and more students. He praised Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for his untiring efforts to promote medical education and healthcare services in the province.
He also appreciated the services of PGMI principal Professor Dr Sajjad Hussain for his efforts in developing PGMI, LGH and now the creation of a new undergraduate medical college. He hoped that the new medical college at LGH would become a model institution in the days to come.
PGMI principal Professor Dr Sajjad Hussain briefed the VC about the medical education and healthcare services being offered to masses. He said the PGMI would be transformed into a modern medical education institute after the establishment of seven-storey building with a cost of Rs 1.25 billion.
