Zakat department releases second instalment

Punjab Minister for Zakat and Ushr Mian Khadim Hussain Wattoo has said the Zakat Department has released the second instalment of Rs 2,85,000 to help 64 families suffering from leprosy at the Mohalla Korhian in Rawalpindi.
He made the comment to a non-government organisation delegation working to rehabilitate mustahqeen in the Punjab here on Wednesday. "These families are being helped out worth Rs 570,000 every year," he added.
He urged District Zakat officers to visit their areas regularly to hear poor people's grievances and the Zakat administrator to ensure that funds were used properly. Punjab Zakat Administrator Mian Abdullah and Lahore's District Zakat officer were also present.
