Police official, accountant held on charge of graft

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) raided two places and arrested a sub-inspector and a District Attorney Office accountant after being found guilty of taking kickbacks and they were sent to lock-up for further investigation.
Amanullah, of Multan, filed an application to the ACE, saying Sub-Inspector Ghulam Hussain and Investigation Officer of Police Station Basti Malook, Multan, get involved his brother Rehmatullah, a rickshaw driver, in a case of the motorbike theft.
He was declared innocent after thorough investigation but Ghulam Hussain, Sub-Inspector refused to release him without receiving bribe and threatened that he would be involved in a dacoity case if Rs 30,000 were not provided to him.
The applicant alleged that he handed over Rs 25, 000 to the sub-inspector in the presence of SHO Ejaz Akram at Police Station Basti Malook but he is demanding remaining amount of Rs 5, 000.
ACE raiding party conducted raid under the supervision of Special Judicial Magistrate Hadayat Ullah Khan and arrested Ghulam Hussain, Sub-Inspector, red-handed when he was receiving remaining amount of Rs 5,000 from Amanullah.
Sabir Hussain, a resident of Dera Ghazi Khan lodged an application to ACE authorities that he was involved in a case and local court has granted bail in this regard but Talib Hussain, an Accountant of District Attorney Office DG Khan, is demanding Rs 5,000 to dispose off the case. The raiding party headed by Civil Judge Tariq Ayub arrested Talib Hussain when he was receiving Rs 5,000 from Sabir Hussain.
